Eventing is a passion at Rocking Horse Stable. Our goal is to help riders become successful eventers by offering instruction in all elements of eventing, by providing excellent facilities and by competing in events throughout Ontario.

We host the Rocking Horse Trials annually on the Sunday of Labour Day weekend. In 2003, the Trials will be on August 31. This year, it is our honour to host the Ontario Pre-Training Championships in association with the Rocking Horse Trials.

Valerie Everson, the main instructor at Rocking Horse is an avid eventer. She has competed in Horse Trails for over 20 years and has trained with international calibre eventers. In 2000, Valerie won the Pre-Training division of the National Capital Horse Trials Association Championships.

RHS hosts a series of clinics each year devoted to the needs of eventers. Each season, clinics in dressage, jumping and cross country are offered. Look for upcoming clinics at 2003 Calender of events.

On August 31st, we will host the 11th annual Rocking Horse Trials and the Ontario Pre-Training Championships. The Trails offers 4 divisions – Training (3’3"), Pre-Training (3’0"), Entry (2’9") and Grasshopper (2’3"). Ribbons are offered to 8th place and there are terrific prizes.

Rocking Horse is an excellent facility for schooling in dressage, cross-country or jumping. The facilities are open to all boarders at the stable and on a daily fee basis to visitors. Call us for more information at 613-488-3066.

We have four complete cross country courses for schooling at the Training, Pre-Training, Entry and pre-entry levels. Our courses range over rolling, sandy terrain. We have a large water complex, steep hills, wooded trails and open galloping.

The stadium course is a well-drained derby-style jumping course with well maintained jumps. We also have a 300’ x 150’ sand ring and lots of open fields.
